Man pleads guilty in e-mail spam case
A man once described as one of the world’s top e-mail spammers pleaded guilty Friday to federal charges of mail fraud, wire fraud, and failure to file a tax return.
Robert Alan Soloway, 29, was dubbed “the spam king” by prosecutors who said he used networks of compromised computers to send out millions upon millions of junk e-mails since 2003.

EU clears Google to buy DoubleClick
Google Inc. took control of online ad tracker DoubleClick Inc. Tuesday just hours after European regulators cleared Google’s $3.1 billion bid for the company.
The European Union said the deal, announced 11 months ago, won’t curb competition in the online advertising arena.
United States regulators cleared it in December. Approval from the EU was the last hurdle before the deal could conclude.
