All new web disk feature in cPanel 11
cPanel 11 has many new features, We also offer cPanel 11 to all our clients. One of the best new features that took my attention was, the all new “Web Disk” feature, which you can use to update/upload your site in just few clicks. This is a really good new feature in cPanel specially when FrontPage extensions are no longer available in most severs.

What does bandwidth limit exceeded mean?
The amount of data transfer limit or the traffic limit that is allocated to any given month has gone over quota, so you either have to buy more bandwidth or wait till the next month
Bandwidth allowance/limit is the amount of data transfer you are given on a plan/package by your web host.

No more FrontPage Extensions
Microsoft has already dropped FrontPage from its list of web authoring software. And as a result FrontPage extensions will no longer be available in all Linux based hosting platforms. Currently its still functioning to some extent but since MS has stopped all the security updates and support connected to FrontPage extensions, its likely the FrontPage extension will disappear from the Linux web hosting industry for good. Although this won’t be a big issue for the Linux based web hosting industry as Linux is an open source industry and already there are lot of alternatives for FP sever extensions.

The new pricing will be 2.4% plus 30 cents to 3.1% plus 30 cents, depending on volume, up from 2.2% plus 30 cents to 2.9% plus 30 cents. Also, PayPal will start levying a 30-cent fee for Website Payments Pro authorizations in cases where transactions aren’t settled within 29 days…”

Which is better for online payment processing
Google checkout or Pay pal..?
Well i think google works only for US and UK at the moment so if your running a global business you will lose sales from other part of the world.
And when it comes to paypal, even though they’ve been in the business for a long time they don’t support every country, large number of countries are left out, but i think they have recently made some changes by adding some more countries but still they provide limited services for vendors.

Spammers find new ways to slip through
SAN FRANCISCO - Just when it appeared tech firms had the upper hand against spam, spammers have unleashed new forms of the meddlesome e-mail to trick filters.
Spam in the form of popular PDF e-mail attachments and electronic greeting cards is confounding e-mail security systems and annoying consumers. The recent Storm e-mail virus and several pump-and-dump stock scams are clogging inboxes and snookering consumers into downloading malicious software. And it could get worse as the holidays approach, anti-spam experts say.

Overselling v. Overpromising
As a moderator and community member on WebHostingTalk.com, I come across discussions daily on the subject of overselling. For the purposes of this blog post, overselling is the practice of making more disk space and data transfer available to customers than a particular server, cluster, grid, etc. technologically has available to allocate.
My observations lead me to conclude there are three clear camps into which nearly everyone belongs (these are generalizations - there are flavors of thought within each one, but you’ll get the picture):

Microsoft: End of an Era
| Bill Gates promises that he will relinquish control of Microsoft sometime next year. He plans to become a full-time philanthropist in the mold of John D. Rockefeller or Andrew Carnegie, perhaps topping them both. Steve Ballmer will control day-to-day operations, with Craig Mundie and Ray Ozzie kind of playing Bill Gates’s former roles as chief meddler and nitpicker. (Apparently, it takes two guys to be the equivalent of Bill Gates | ![]() |
Of course, when Bill meddled and nitpicked Ballmer it created a specific dynamic between the two. It’ll be a completely different situation when these two organization men start doing it to Ballmer. There is no way these two suits can harness Ballmer, a mind-boggling dynamo who borders on maniacal.

Mozilla rushes out second Firefox patch this month
San Francisco (IDGNS) - Mozilla has patched a pair of nasty flaws in its Firefox browser, two weeks after security researchers first started posting code that showed how the flaws could be exploited in attacks.
The 2.0.0.6 version of Firefox, released Monday, fixes a pair of related flaws in the URL protocol handler component of Firefox, which is used to launch programs when a user clicks on certain specially crafted Web links.
